WEEKDAYS South Whidbey Preschool

Fostering a Love of Nature

We are a nature based preschool serving children 1-6 years old in a cozy schoolhouse on beautiful South Whidbey Island.

We are inspired by Montessori, Waldorf and nature based learning and we believe in child-centered learning. This allows us to cater to their interests and nurture the curiosity and sense of wonder we hope they'll keep their entire lives. We refer to our school as "the children's house," a nurturing and secure environment where your children can thrive. Aligned with our unwavering mission, vision, and values, we are dedicated to fostering a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for every child.

Our Approach

Our mission at WEEKDAYS South Whidbey Preschool is to foster a love of nature and to guide children toward healthy relationships with themselves and others.

Our approach centers on personalization and care for each and every child. Students have plenty of learning time with support to explore their individual interests and focus areas, at their own pace.

Through structured and unstructured learning time, hands-on activities and plenty of imaginative play, our goal is to gain skills that ultimately help them with the basics of learning to read, write, build their math and science skills, and become successful, lifelong learners. We follow a mix of Montessori and Waldorf but we are not specific to just one learning style as we mainly follow each child's lead to help foster a love of learning.

Our classes spend a lot of time outside and our program has plenty of outdoor exploration including spring and summer gardening with each child getting their own small patch of land to plant.
